There actually was a mosque 800' from the world trade center, damaged on 9/11. They're still trying to repair it... It's very difficult to repair historical buildings.

My father is more sane in that he'll at least admit they have every right to build the fucking thing...

I think what the guy needs to do is come up with some really impressive alternate unit of measurement and use that instead of "two blocks." Americans have short attention spans, as soon as they hear it's being built "one league" away or "2,547 cubits" or something like that, they'll all be "God damned right, build over there!" when, really, it's the same damned site.

Thing is it wasn't 'Muslims' that blew up the WTC towers. It was religious fanatics. And their religion happened to be 'Islam', but the point is it's not all Muslims pissing people off, just the crazy ones.
